Tankard<\/strong> is a pillar of the German thrash metal scene and one of the most beloved bands in the genre. Hailing from Frankfurt am Main<\/strong>, they formed in 1982<\/strong> and have consistently played high-speed thrash with a unique focus on beer, partying, and social satire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside Kreator<\/strong>, Destruction<\/strong>, and Sodom<\/strong>, they are celebrated as one of the “Big Teutonic Four”<\/strong>\u2014the four bands that defined German thrash metal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          While Tankard is not currently listed in the announced lineup for N\u00e6stved Metalfest 2026<\/strong> (which so far features The Gathering, Bloodbath, and Marduk<\/em>), they are a frequent guest at major European festivals.
