    The term Asrafocore<\/strong> is derived from the Ewe word Asrafo<\/em> (Warrior) and Kor<\/em> (Fist\/Headquarters, or simply “core”). Their music is a reclamation of metal’s primal energy, which Rock Ahavi believes is intrinsically linked to ancestral African war chants and rhythms. They use traditional instruments like the gankogui<\/strong> (cowbell), axatse<\/strong> (shaker), and djembe<\/strong> alongside seven-string guitars and double-bass drumming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
